La Borie Art
Residency

About

A stay at the residence allows for contemplation and reflection in this place where Renaissance architectural thought and its art of gardens enter into dialogue with the concept of “Garden in Movement” which consists of “doing as much as possible with, and as little as possible against nature” according to landscape architect and botanist Gilles Clément. La Borie is anchored in a rural context, the Limousin bocage. The French garden, the “Garden in Movement or Living Garden”, the permaculture vegetable garden and the forest continue to function as in the past: a laboratory of observation and experimentation to support a healthy and diverse ecosystem. The mission of the residence is to echo a fertile dialogue between the memory of places, natural dynamics and artistic gesture. Artists are invited to create and present works that reinvent the links between art, architecture, and the territory.
